Online Quran Recitation Classes

Most adults recite the Quran roughly the way they were taught at seven years old. The habits set early — a rushed letter here, a shortened madd there — survive decades of daily reading, because nobody has listened closely enough to catch them since.

WHO IT’S FOR

For the child who can read

Children who have finished the Qaida and are now reading from the Mushaf. Teenagers and adults who read but stumble, or who read smoothly and suspect they are reading smoothly wrong. Reverts who learned to read from transliteration or apps and want the real thing. Complete beginners should start with Noorani Qaida or Noor Al-Bayaan instead.

The journey, step by step

What You'll Work On

Each stage builds on the one before it — from reading the letters cleanly all the way to reciting beautifully.

1

Fluency in the script

Reading without hesitating over letter shapes, so your attention is free for accuracy rather than decoding.

2

Accuracy of the letters

The letters English speakers habitually merge, corrected one at a time: the two h's, s's, d's, t's, and the ‘ayn that usually disappears altogether.

3

Applying Tajweed while reading

The rules you know in theory becoming automatic in practice — a different skill from learning them, and one that takes longer.

4

Pace and breath

Where to stop, where not to, and how to read at a speed that lets you pronounce everything properly instead of racing to the end.

5

Beauty

Once accuracy is secure: the tone, the pauses and the melody that make recitation something people want to listen to.

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm an adult and slightly embarrassed about my reading. Is that a problem?

No, and you are in a large group. A good number of our students are adults, many of them parents who realised their child had overtaken them. Your teacher has taught dozens of people from exactly where you are.

This course is about reading the Mushaf well overall; the Tajweed courses teach the rules themselves, systematically. Most students take both, often in the same week.

Yes, and it is a good pairing. Recitation lessons keep the reading accurate while memorisation lessons build the volume.

Our teachers hold ijazah in Hafs ‘an ‘Asim, which is what almost every UK family reads. If you need another riwayah, ask us and we’ll tell you honestly whether we can match you.

Tajweed for Beginners

The rules of correct recitation, introduced one at a time and applied straight away: makharij — where each letter is produced — the basic madd, and the noon and meem rules. Nothing is learned as theory before it is used.

Noorani Qaida

The classic first book. Letters, their shapes and sounds, joining them together, and the vowel marks — the foundation everything else rests on. Most children work through it in a few months.
