Does my child need to know Arabic?
No. The course is taught in English with the Arabic explained as you go. Many families take Tafseer alongside the Arabic Language course so the two reinforce each other.
Which tafseer do you teach from?
Our teachers draw on the classical works — Ibn Kathir, Al-Sa’di, Al-Tabari — and present the mainstream understanding, noting where scholars differed rather than picking a side for you.
What age can a child start?
Around eight for most children. Younger than that, meaning is better introduced informally inside a Quran lesson than as a course of its own.
Can we focus on a particular surah?
Yes. Tell your teacher what you want to cover — a surah your child is memorising, or one you read every week — and the course is built around it.

This course is built around that problem. Your child memorises one-to-one with an Al-Azhar qualified teacher who holds an ijazah, follows a daily cycle of new material and revision, and works towards a target that was set for them — not for a class of thirty. You get a written report every month showing exactly what has been memorised and what is being maintained.
The rules of correct recitation, introduced one at a time and applied straight away: makharij — where each letter is produced — the basic madd, and the noon and meem rules. Nothing is learned as theory before it is used.
Children work through a paced curriculum with visuals, games and plenty of speaking. Adults start wherever they actually are, including from nothing. And if you want to move quickly, an intensive schedule of four or five lessons a week covers in months what a weekly class covers in years.
