Frequently Asked Questions
Do you teach Classical or Modern Standard Arabic?
Both, weighted to what you want. Most of our students want to understand the Quran, so we lean classical while teaching the Modern Standard forms they will meet in writing and media.
Do you teach the Egyptian dialect?
Our teachers are Egyptian, so conversational Egyptian comes naturally alongside the standard language if that is useful to you. Say so and your teacher will include it.
My child speaks Arabic at home but can't read it. Where do we start?
With reading and writing, and you’ll be surprised how fast it goes — the vocabulary and the ear are already there. Your teacher will assess this in the trial lesson.
Can you prepare my child for GCSE or A-level Arabic?
Yes. Tell us the exam board and the exam date and your teacher will work backwards from the specification.

Quran Recitation
Reading the Mushaf fluently and correctly, with every letter corrected as it is read. For students who can already manage the Arabic script and want their recitation to become smooth, accurate and confident.
Tajweed for Beginners
The rules of correct recitation, introduced one at a time and applied straight away: makharij — where each letter is produced — the basic madd, and the noon and meem rules. Nothing is learned as theory before it is used.
Noorani Qaida
The classic first book. Letters, their shapes and sounds, joining them together, and the vowel marks — the foundation everything else rests on. Most children work through it in a few months.
